At my fourth participation in the Omega European Masters in Crans-Montana, it finally happened. I made a long birdie putt on the last hole, achieving something I had long dreamed of. I made the cut at a DP World Tour event for the first time, which allowed me to enjoy the great atmosphere of this fantastic event on both Saturday and Sunday.
For me, it wasn’t just the fact that I made the cut that mattered, but rather the way I achieved it. With five holes to go, I knew I needed three more birdies to reach my goal. And I delivered.
had a bit of bad luck with the draw for the third round. Due to the odd number of players who made the cut and the fact that I was the last to submit my scorecard on Friday evening, I had to play the third round alone on Saturday morning at 07:20. Just another experience to add to my collection.
Being the top Swiss player and participating for the first time in the wonderful award ceremony amid the Swiss mountains under brilliant sunshine was an unforgettable experience for me. Along with many great impressions and a fantastic Omega watch for the best Swiss player, I take away a significant realization: I have proven to myself that I can perform my best golf even under the greatest pressure. This gives me an enormous boost of motivation for the challenges ahead on my journey.
