My first Cut at the Challenge Tour

Swiss Challenge
St. Apollinaire (SUI)
03.10.2021

For me and our team it was clear, that at the Omega European Masters I was “allowed” to deliver, and in October, at the Swiss Challenge, the only Challenge Tour event in Switzerland, I “had to” deliver . The objective was given: In my second appearene in a Challenge Tour event, I absolutely wanted to make the cut. On my former home course at Golf Saint Apollinaire, I started with a solid opening round of 73. In the second round, I was 3 under par with four holes to go. Having a look at the leaderbord my caddy and i realized, that finishing with solid par golf would probably not be enough to make the cut. So I really turned up the heat and played the last four difficult holes in 2 under par. With this round of 67, I was the only amateur to just make the cut, which is my most valuable result at a Challenge Tour event so far.

We actually wanted to use the remaining two rounds to step forward in the field, but unfortunately our attack ended in disaster. 7 over par after 9 holes showed, that our race to the top of the field obviously seemed to be ittle bit too wild. Although I could recover from this setback, in terms of results nothing changed and therefore finished in 66th place.
